My Father's Place has been holding down the Central Eastside since 1978, an old-school bar and diner that has stayed exactly itself while the industrial district around it turned into something else entirely. Yur's has been on NW 16th since 1969, open 7 a.m. to 2:30 a.m., strong pours, cold beer, a burger the regulars will fight you over, and every game on every screen. Neither one is trying to be discovered. That is the point.
